Maupiti is the smallest island of the high islands of the society.
As it's beutifull sister, Maupiti gots a not very deep lagoon, an impressive relief and motus of sand.
Nevertheless Maupiti is much less frequented than Bora Bora, it's more authentic, a bit like Bora Bora in the fiveties.
The island's ring, about 10kms can be make in a day walk. It allows to discover rocks decked out with petroglyphes in the Haranae valley, many marae including the royal marae of Vaiahu, and beutifull white sand beaches and not busy...

How to get there :

By plane, with Air Tahiti.
By boat, many small boats are deserving Maupiti from Raiatea, it'll coast you around 1000F CFP.
